WIND OF HOPE IN THE ARID YOUTH - WHAY

The youth in Wind of Hope in the Arid - WHAY - is led by The Committee which consists of 6 youngsters at the age from 14 - 22 years.

WHAY is participating in the daily work in Wind of Hope e.g. food distribution, mobilization, information campaigns about HIV/AIDS, against female circumcision etc.
WHAY also has income generating activities e.g. a poultry farm which they hope to expand.
WHAY managed to build constructions for kids from the street - the boys´ camp.

SHORT TERM GOALS for WHAY:

-         Identification and mobilization of abandoned, orphaned and children made vulnerable by HIV/Aids need placements.

-         Life skills for both change and positive living.

-         Accessing information of knowledge and wise prevention measurers

-         Exchange of ideas and collaboration with like kind minded programmes

-         Accessing psychosocial support

-         Meetings, for members, committee

-         Writing proposals

-         Reporting to gang programme, WHA, community

-         Mobilizing and identifying possible appropriate and relevant cultural aspect to be advocated for in the team to be formed of cultural troupe.

-         Trainings workshop similar and public baraza for awareness creation.

LONG TERM GOALS:

-         Own computer in WHA

-         Making a camp for orphan farcitates

-         Training of trainers

-         Support of drugs for syndromic management.

-         Support after school (preference girls)

-         Water supply

-         Visit Slaenget ("The Gang")

-         Pilot project

-         Organization development project
