Simone Jacinta age 7 with her new older sisters Yvonne age 10, and Whitney 6  years at the home she moved into 6 months ago. Simone was placed with Isiolo market stall holder Purity Karwitha through Pepo la Tumaini Jangwani (Wind of Hope in the Arid) an HIV/AIDS community support group based in the town. Purity became involved with Tumaini after she moved into the community near the centre in March 2005. She was already an active member of a group of market women called The Concubines who oppose the practice of wife sharing (concubinage) that is a feature of some cultural groups in the area.and a common source of spreading HIV infection.
